There are some weddings that just stay with you—and Westin and Thelma’s beautiful Lake Keowee celebration is one I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
Set at Westin’s parents’ lake house, their wedding felt less like an event and more like a joyful weekend getaway with the people they love most. Inside jokes, hilarious speeches, and genuine love filled this weekend-long event. Nestled right on the water, the home provided the most peaceful and personal backdrop—complete with dock views, string lights, and that perfect golden hour glow you can only get near the lake.
From the moment I arrived, you could feel the heart behind every detail. Thelma got ready with her mom and sister before having a special moment with her dad. One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look—sweet, simple, and full of emotion.
The ceremony took place in the backyard overlooking Lake Keowee, with a soft breeze coming off the water and flowers lining the aisle. This all helped create a cozy, connected feel that was so true to who Westin and Thelma are—down-to-earth, intentional, and full of love for their people.
After the ceremony, we snuck away for portraits just as the sun dipped behind the trees. Later, everyone enjoyed an incredible dinner with charcuterie, and a few unique twists like chicken wings, and a taco station! After dinner, everyone enjoyed dancing the night away before a beautiful sparkler and bubble sendoff!

Westin and Thelma, thank you for inviting me into such a sacred, joyful, and beautiful day. It’s always an honor to be trusted to photograph other photographer’s weddings, and I can’t thank you enough!
