Larkin’s Founders and Cabaret Room Wedding | Ashley + Devin - Greenville SC Wedding Photographer

It’s funny where life can take you sometimes. I first met Ashley when she was first hired at Michelin (where I used to work two and a half years ago). She was placed in my group, and sat just a few cubicles away from me. We always got along well and I helped her through her training process. I first met Devin at a company party, where you could bring one “friend.” They were great together and had a very similar sense of humor and great chemistry. I knew it would only be a matter of time before things went on to the next level.

Fast forward a few years, and sure enough, Ashley had just gotten engaged. Even though we weren’t working together anymore, she remembered my “side-job” of photography (which, not so secretly took over my full-time engineering job at Michelin). When she reached out, I was so happy! We setup a time to do engagement photos, and were all looking forward to a gorgeous wedding.

We were just a week out from the wedding when a little storm started brewing in the south Atlantic named “Florence.” This storm turned into a category 4 hurricane and was headed directly for our area. Thankfully the storm significantly weakened and didn’t really do much more than rain off and on in the Greenville area.

The day of the wedding, I met up with a very excited Ashley at the beautiful Westin Poinsett hotel. She was just finishing up getting ready with her four bridesmaids and was absolutely glowing with excitement for the day. Soon afterward we took some photos and headed down to Larkin’s Founders Room for a beautiful and emotional ceremony, followed by some quick photos around the riverplace area just before the storm came in. We then headed up to the Larkin’s Cabaret Room for a fun reception filled with some hilarious dance floor moments, delicious beef brisket, hilarious speeches, and a beautiful sparkler sendoff through the courtyard.
