I distinctly remember our driving back up to Greenville from Charleston after a very relaxing vacation last July. As the miles ticked by on our journey up I-26, I remembered seeing a sign for Monck’s Corner and thought to myself… don’t these people know how to spell “monk.” I mean seriously, it’s 4 letters, its really not that complicated of a word… we must be in the middle of nowhere. A few days went by and sure enough, I got an email from Hope asking me if I’d be interested in shooting her wedding in Monck’s Corner. After a thoroughly entertaining conversation on the phone we decided we were a good fit and next thing you know, I’m down in Monck’s Corner at Mepkin Abbey shooting their wedding. And what a gorgeous setting, with spanish moss swinging from the 100+ year old live oak trees overhead, and a cool breeze off the nearby lake, the stage was set for a beautiful day.
