As a wedding photographer, I always look forward to capturing beautiful moments on the couple’s special day, regardless of the weather. And that was certainly the case with Margot and Matt’s wedding at the gorgeous VanLandingham Estate in Charlotte, NC.

Although rain on a wedding day can be a challenge, it’s always an opportunity to get creative with the shots. The grounds at the VanLandingham Estate were stunning, even in the rain, with the beautiful gardens and stunning architecture of the estate providing a picturesque backdrop.

We started the day with the getting-ready shots, and the atmosphere was electric. Despite the rain outside, the excitement inside was palpable, and I could feel the energy building as Margot and Matt prepared to exchange their vows.

As we moved into the ceremony at the nearby Midwood Baptist Church, we took some photos of Matt and groomsmen before the ceremony. Held in the main sanctuary, the ceremony was intimate and beautiful, with the rain only adding to the romantic ambiance.

After the ceremony, everyone headed back to the VanLandingHam Estate for some bridal party and couples photos. The reception space was decorated beautifully with elegant floral arrangements and plenty of hanging lights. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the guests were in high spirits with plenty of great food, music, and drinks.

As the night progressed, we captured some truly beautiful moments, from the speeches to the first dance and everything in between. The energy in the room was electric, and the love between Margot and Matt was evident in every shot.

In the end, Margot and Matt’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that even on a rainy day, love always shines through. With a little creativity, teamwork, and a lot of heart, we were able to capture some truly stunning moments that the couple will cherish for a lifetime.
