Stunning Fall Westin Poinsett Wedding Photos | Rachel and Matt - Greenville SC Wedding Photographer

I had been looking forward to this wedding all year. Rachel and Matt just naturally clicked with me when we sat down to talk about their wedding towards the end of 2018. It was going to have all those things that I love about weddings, beautiful locations, some unique touches, and plenty of time for photos during peak fall season here in Greenville. I’m happy to say the day didn’t disappoint in the slightest.

We started off the day with Rachel and her bridesmaids getting ready at the iconic Westin Poinsett in downtown Greenville, SC. Soon afterward it was time for Rachel and Matt’s first look. The emotions ran high on both sides, even before Rachel and Matt got to lock eyes for the very first time on their wedding day. The look on their faces said it all, they had been waiting for this day for a very long time. We captured a few quick photos downtown before heading off to St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church of Woodruff Road in Simpsonville for their ceremony. With the formal ceremony complete we took advantage of a gap in the schedule to head up to Furman University for some photos before the reception got started. The colors were absolutely perfect as the sunset over the lake.

As if we didn’t have enough amazing photos already, we got to the Westin and went up to the rooftop right as the sky filled with bright orange and red hues. I could have shot up there all day, but we knew we had a reception to get to down below. The Poinsett ballroom looked absolutely stunning with its antique chandeliers and beautiful centerpieces. With a band playing, and a DJ spinning some great tunes in between, it was an evening filled with plenty of hilarious dance floor moments. The night finished with a private last dance for just Rachel and Matt as the guests lined up for the exit outside. Dozens of sparklers lit up the night as the newlyweds ran out into their new life together.
