I have to admit, I’m usually not the most excited photographer in the world when the bride’s mom decides to tag along with the couple to their engagement session. No offense, but sometimes it can just be awkward to be all lovey-dovey with mom lurking behind the nearest tree.

Being a photographer herself, Kelsey’s mom decided to tag along to their engagement session last week. “Oh boy, not this again… she isn’t going to follow us around the ENTIRE time… is she?” I said (in my head of course), but it actually turned out to be quite the opposite. It was like having a little cheerleader follow me around: “ooo that photo is INCREDIBLE!” … “oh my God! How did you do that!?” … “look at that lighting! I would never seen that!” … “Kelsey! Look at this shot he just took, you look gorgeous!” Naturally, Kelsey and Chris got a kick out of the whole situation, and we had a blast wandering around on a beautiful fall day snapping photos, discussing photo tips, and just enjoying everyone’s company. Maybe I’ll have to change my mind about mom’s coming along!
